The Young Captain Award is granted to people, "who distinguish themselves professionally, in leadership and in being innovative, but nevertheless keep their feet on the ground". 

Veronique Pauwels has followed the Master in General Management (MGM, formerly called PUB) at Vlerick in 1995-1996. All of her professional career, she has been working for Bain & Company, where today she is partner and member of the executive committee. The professional jury was enthused by "the strategic vision, the operational knowledge and persuasiveness, which makes Veronique Pauwels acting as a real leader".
