The main objective is to offer the Vlerick Alumni, PICS members and BIR alumni the opportunity to network with professionals in Logistics & SCM whilst discussing the role of Logistics & SCM in our West-European, Belgian and even Flemish region. Five events create a framework to discuss specific socio-economic topics in the Logistics & SCM domain.
The cycle of events on SCM & Logistics tries to find answers and ideas on the following topics:
• What are the most important action areas according to policy makers? • Infrastructure & Mobility • Flanders versus the world • Is the future still in Eastern Europe? • Cost-efficiency in this sector • Offers the post-crisis era opportunities in this sector? • Can the logistics sector create sustainable jobs? What is the impact of an increasing oil price on the ecological footprint? • Is European collaboration necessary to have sustainable development of our infrastructure?
This second event is a company visit with a specific focus on following key questions: 1.) What is the position of Flanders in the logistic sector? 2.) What inspired the location choice of Loghidden city? 3.) What is the impact of the global economy dip on the logistics sector and specifically for Loghidden city.
These questions will be introduced in “De burcht Singelberg” with a panoramic view on Katoen Natie - Loghidden city; the largest European logistic platform. Afterwards there is a guided visit to several operations. This late afternoon event is the perfect mix of content and experience.
