Dutch chapter

With around 350 alumni living & working in The Netherlands, the Dutch chapter is the biggest alumni community of Vlerick outside Belgium. It was founded in the beginning of 2005 and has organized several events featuring keynote speakers as Laurens-Jan Brinkhorst (former Dutch minister of Economic affairs) and Mark Rutte (former Dutch minister of Education).

You will find below the coming events organized by the Dutch Chapter of Vlerick Alumni. Also included, a summary of 2008 new year reception event at the Residence of the Belgian Ambassador, Luc Carbonez.

Upcoming events

> 9th of September: Dinner on the beach
	Summer holidays are over, but still in the mood to hit the beach? Join our first After summer event on Tuesday, September 9th at the Bloemendaal beach. You will have the opportunity to meet fellow Vlerick alumni for a get-together with apetizers and dinner on the beach. Your partner is more than welcome to join you. > October/November: Prof. Steve Muylle at the Amsterdam Business School
	Now that Vlerick and the Amsterdam Business School have entered in a long term academic partnership, we are happy to participate in the lifetime-learning. We are organizing a session of Strategic Marketing by Prof. Steve Muylle at the Amsterdam University. More details to follow

> 4th or 5th of November: US election night
	Participate in this historic night along with Alumni from the main Ivy League Schools of the US. Jointly organised with Johns Hopkins Alumni The Netherlands. > 2nd of December: Book the date - Winter Reunion "Cerebrate & Celebrate"
	Vlerick Alumni VZW celebrates its golden jubilee. This anniversary will be celebrated at the Winter Reunion on Tuesday 2nd December 2008, with the theme "Cerebrate & Celebrate". The venue is ICC Ghent. More details to follow in the event section of this website. Let us know if you would also be interested in an organized transport to and from Ghent. > January 2009: Book the date for the New Year's Reception
	We have the pleasure to announce that the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Wim Kok, will be our keynote speaker during our New Year’s Reception at the Residence of the Belgian Ambassador, Luc Carbonez. > January 2008: Leadership and Change: Koen Becking at the Residence of the Belgian Ambassador
The underlying theme of the 28th January event at the Belgian Embassy in The Hague was leadership and change. Prof. Koen Becking, currently CEO of KRO, one of the most successful Dutch Broadcasting Organisations and professor extraordinary specialised in leadership at the Stellenbosch University, South Africa, gave a general overview about leadership particularly focusing on the public sector.
